In the heart of the Arbuckle Mountains, you’ll find Oklahoma’s tallest waterfall - Turner Falls, great hiking and camping spots at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, exciting ziplines including the 777 Ziplineand Air Donkey Zipline, and beautiful cabinsfor a weekend getaway. It’s basically the perfect place to spend time in the great outdoors. But before you go for an outdoor adventure, you’ll need your outdoor gear! 

On historic Muskogee Street, in downtown Sulphur, is a cute little outdoorsy shop – the Bromide Mountain Company. This store has everything you’ll need for spending time outdoors – Patagonia sweaters, backpacks, Camelback water bottles, flannels, hammocks, QALO rings, and so much more. 

I love hiking and spending time outside, but I’m not a serious hiker. I’m more of a “glamper.” If that’s you, don’t worry. This store is for you, too. Bromide Mountain Co. has beautiful jewelry, home décor, mugs, and hats. If you’re a t-shirt collector, like I am, Bromide Mountain Co. has plenty of t-shirts to choose from so you will always remember your trip to the Arbuckle Mountains. 

Miranda Dickinson grew up in Ardmore, Oklahoma and fell in love with the outdoors in south-central Oklahoma. “Sulphur was an exhale to the daily grind” for her and her husband so she decided to open a little mountain shop in downtown Sulphur. She named it Bromide Mountain Co. after Bromide Hill at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Her wish is that everyone who visits the store will also visit Bromide Hill.
