Message From The Governor
Chokma,
On behalf of the Chickasaw Nation, welcome to Chickasaw Country. We invite you to enjoy the rich, tribal culture of the Chickasaw people and natural beauty of south-central Oklahoma.
During this time of responsible distancing, we understand that planning a trip can be challenging – ChickasawCountry.com provides the information you need to make smart travel choices.
While some of our indoor locations remain temporarily closed to protect the health and safety of guests and patrons, we encourage you to explore the beautiful outdoor destinations Chickasaw Country has to offer, as we look forward to reopening all businesses and locations as soon as safely possible.
With more than 7,600 square miles to explore, south-central Oklahoma has plenty of space for a safe, family-friendly getaway. Hike the trails in the Arbuckle Mountains or Tishomingo Wildlife Refuge, spend a relaxing day at any of our scenic lakes or take a walk through the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.
As one of only three Oklahoma parks affiliated with the National Park Service, the Chickasaw National Recreation Area offers year-round boating, fishing and camping, with more than 30 miles of trails to enjoy.
Throughout your journey across Chickasaw Country, you will discover a remarkable variety of nature and wildlife, as well as historic settings perfect for a sightseeing road trip or a recreational day in the wilderness.
Visit with tourism professionals at any of our four tourism centers for travel information and to learn more about First American cultural attractions within the region.
You will find beautiful First American artwork, delicious Bedre’ Fine Chocolate, Made in Oklahoma merchandise and an array of perfect souvenirs to commemorate your time in Chickasaw Country at the Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center (Davis), Chickasaw Visitor Center (Sulphur), Chickasaw Nation Information Center (Tishomingo) and Tourism Information Center (Thackerville).
Tourism information can also be found inside Exhibit C Native Gallery & Gifts in Oklahoma City where you can browse authentic art and craftwork created by Chickasaw and other First American artists, and enjoy the full line of Bedré Fine Chocolate.
Due to the potential for some events and facilities to be postponed, canceled or closed in response to the ongoing public health risk posed by COVID-19, we encourage you to contact businesses directly with any questions.
