Flavors of Chickasaw Country: Hobo Joes
It’s the middle of the summer, and if you don’t have a trip planned to Lake Texoma, you should. It’s the perfect place to relax and soak up the summer sun. While you are there, drive a few miles to Madill, Oklahoma, for a burger, pizza or steak at our latest Flavors of Chickasaw Country: Hobo Joe’s.
As soon as you walk in, you’ll feel at home. This is the kind of restaurant where locals visit early in the morning to drink coffee and discuss the local football game, and the place where students celebrate a home team win.
One of my favorite features of the restaurant is the large wood-fired brick oven. Each pizza is hand-made and cooked for everyone to see.
I tried my hand at cooking my own pizza. It was so much fun! I’m not the next Rachel Ray, but I tried my best. (That’s all that matters, right?)
Hobo Joe's has everything you could want –breakfast food, burgers, steaks, pizza, wings, beer, and so much more. Hobo Joe's refreshes their menu every six months offering a unique variety for the locals. It also helps the owners experiment with new menu items. This practice helped invent their famous PB&J burger. This burger has sweet jalapeño jelly on one side and peanut butter on the other. And trust me, it’s incredible!
