Say "Yes!" to Chickasaw Country
Hi friends! Kalli here.
I have many friends in the middle of planning their weddings for spring and early summer. I’ve heard the struggles to decide on the perfect location. Because my job allows me to travel, I thought I could help any of my newly engaged readers (Congratulations to all of you) embark on the greatest adventure of their life.
Chickasaw Country is the perfect spot with many destinations to choose from for your big day. I recently visited three beautiful venues in south-central Oklahoma to fit your wedding style from stylish or rustic to elegant and classic.
So, sit back, relax and hopefully one of these options can help you narrow your search and bring your wedding vision to life.
Old Hollywood Glam
The Grand Canadian Theater in Purcell is an elegant venue with historical charm, only 30 minutes from Oklahoma City. The venue was built in the early 1900’s and was originally an opera house in downtown Purcell. It was converted into a wedding venue in 2016.
The 10,000-sq. ft. venue is an architectural masterpiece with two floors with two lounge areas, two bars, crystal chandeliers throughout, five farmhouse tables and a photo booth. My favorite parts of The Grand Canadian Theater were the bridal and groom’s suites. The incredible bridal suite is filled with walls of mirrors and plenty of plug-ins (I know how important those are!) and room for a big bridal party to relax. The groom’s suite has recliners, a bar and a large TV screen across an entire wall. There are three different wedding packages to choose from to fit any budget.
Rural and Rustic
Thinking about a more secluded and scenic setting for your wedding? If so, you definitely need to check out The Stables at Washita Farms. Located in Mannsville on 500 acres of private land, it’s a short drive from Ardmore.
The main barn was transformed into the wedding space with great care taken to preserve the equestrian-style look of the original barn. One of my favorite parts of this venue was the lounge located in one of the horse stables with unique sofas and décor to make the space feel extra homey. I mean look how cute it is! It is the perfect place for a candy bar, a photo booth, or any other fun Pinterest activity for your wedding.
Another unique feature of The Stables is the large bridal suite with three bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a kitchen, laundry room and lots and lots of mirrors. A number of complete wedding packages are available.
Classic Romance
If you have always imagined getting married in a chapel, the Arbuckle Wedding Chapel near Davis is perfect for your dream wedding. This full-service wedding chapel with a reception venue is tucked away in the Arbuckle Mountains only a few miles from Turner Falls. Your wedding coordinator will handle all your decorating and make sure everything is ready for your special day!
