Flavors of Chickasaw Country: Dakota’s Restaurant
A few weeks ago, I took a trip to Dakota’s in Blanchard and let’s just say I’m already planning my next trip. When I walked in I felt completely at home. The owners, Justin and Linda Hobbs, are the kindest, sweetest people. They always dreamed of opening a restaurant, and that dream became a reality in 2011.
When the couple visited Dakota’s in 2011, they were sitting in the corner booth discussing buying the property, and 15 minutes later they were making a deal to buy the restaurant. Five weeks later, Justin and Linda officially owned Dakota’s. The couple isn’t originally from Blanchard, but quickly fell in love with the small town! (So did I!) Linda said the people in Blanchard took them in, and it felt like she’s known them all of her life.
The atmosphere at Dakota’s is great, but the food is also incredible! It’s down-home cooking at its finest! All of their meats are made fresh and all of their desserts are homemade. It’s not uncommon to see a line out the door waiting on the delicious home-cooked food and the friendly atmosphere.
Don’t just take my word for it. Watch this video to find out more.
Isn’t that a fun place? I can’t wait to go back, and take all of my family and friends with me! While you are there, use #VisitChickasaw, and you might be featured on our social media!
See you at Dakota’s. I’ll be the one eating all the pie!
