Ah, spring. There are many things to look forward to like warmer weather and fresh air, but as we all know, the weather can be somewhat unpredictable in these parts. So, we’re breaking down some of the top spring activities, whatever the weather!
Hide Out Indoors
Star Skate
There’s something for everyone to enjoy at Star Skate in Ada. Built in 1983 as the first of four Star Skate roller rinks, this facility has seen many new skaters over the years and plenty of return skaters.
Toy and Action Figure Museum
From Star Wars to Batman and everything in between, the Toy and Action Figure Museum in Pauls Valley has been showcasing thousands of action figures in fun and interactive displays since opening their doors in 2005.
Chisholm Trail Heritage Center
Who says you can’t still learn while on Spring Break? The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center in Duncan is a state-of-the-art museum that provides an interactive experience showcasing life “on the trail.” If your little buckaroo can’t get enough of the Old West, enjoy Spring Break like a cowboy at this iconic Chickasaw Country museum.
Urban Escape Rooms/ Urban Air Adventure Park
Spend a day in Ardmore exercising your body and mind. Bounce around at one of the many trampoline arenas or take on the challenge course at Urban Air Adventure Park. Or race against the clock to accomplish your mission at Urban Escape Rooms.
Jack's Tracks Train Museum
Hop off the Heartland Flyer and into the Pauls Valley Train Museum! Jack's Tracks is situated downtown and has Jack's collection of model trains and railroads.
Venture Out
Turner Falls/ 777 Zipline
Natural caves, hiking trails, a castle and a 77-foot waterfall create the perfect playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors have been exploring Turner Falls and the 1,500 acres surrounding it for many years. If you’re feeling adventurous, take in the view from 777 Zipline overlooking the park and zip 777 feet across the sky!
Lake Murray
A day at Lake Murray State Park is always a fun way to soak up the sun! Visitors have many activities to choose from like saddling up and exploring the trails by horseback at the Lake Murray Riding Stables. Visitors can make a splash on the water slides, Wave Runners, kayaks and paddle boats at Lake Murray Water Sports and Mini Golf. Be sure to take in the view from the top of Tucker Tower on Lake Murray!
Blue River
Cast a line at one of south-central Oklahoma’s official Fishing Trail stops! The Blue River Fishing Area is best known for its abundance of trout, bass, crappie and blue catfish while also offering visitors camping spots and scenic views. Tackle more of the Oklahoma Fishing Trail with the help of our blog on the south-central loop!
Outdoor Powersports Offroad Park at Crossbar Ranch
Tucked away in the Arbuckle Mountains are 6,500 acres full of trails, rocks and creeks creating the ultimate paradise for off-roading. Cross Bar Ranch is the largest area in Oklahoma dedicated to ATV and motorcycle off-road riding; just bring an adventurous spirit, and they’ll provide the rest!
