100 Years of Fried Pies

Apple pie, peach pie, savory pies, oh my! It’s that time of year again— I’m hitting the road to visit some of the unique local restaurants that call Chickasaw Country home and continue our Flavors of Chickasaw Country series.

and I’ve loved every minute of it!

To kick things off, I traveled to Davis, OK, the home of Arbuckle Mountain Original Fried Pies. While I was there, I met the owner, Nancy Fulton, whose family has been serving fried pies for over 100 years.

From their delicious fruit-filled pies, to their savory pies, you can’t go wrong with any flavor! Did I mention that they have sugar-free options, as well?

Hold onto your seats because Nancy is about to have your taste buds jumping for joy as she tells y’all a little more about her story.

Seriously folks, you have to drive down I-35 to Exit 51 to get yourself an ooey, gooey, flaky pie! If you’re curious, my personal favorite was the peanut butter chocolate concoction. Speaking of, I’m going to make a point to get one of these on my next road trip!

Thanks for joining me on this Flavors of Chickasaw Country stop; stay tuned to find out where I travel next!
