The Blue River Association plays host to two annual trout derbies that take place the first in November on Veteran's Day Weekend and the second in February on President's Day Weekend. Visitors do need a fishing license to participate in any fishing activity at Blue River. Greater adventure calls for those who brave kayaking down the river. As a Class II-III river, these waters offer a pleasant floating experience featuring several short falls, interval currents and ledges. Public access points are limited and a Blue River Conservation Passport is required for anyone entering the premises.
