Take a Trip by Train!
Sit back, relax and enjoy the unique scenery unfolding outside the windows of Oklahoma's Heartland Flyer. The AMTRAK Heartland Flyer is a passenger rail service between Oklahoma City and Fort Worth, Texas. The Heartland Flyer offers two daily train rides, one each way, with stops in Norman, Purcell, Pauls Valley, Ardmore and Gainesville.
Light fare such as sandwiches and beverages can be purchased in the cafe-style club car. Each train consists of bi-level coaches. All of the Heartland Flyer's coaches feature an upper level coach section with spacious reclining seats, complete with individual reading lights and large windows. The lower level of the two Superliner Coaches features 12 wheelchair accessible seats on one end and restrooms on the other end.
As an additional service, the National Park Service is teaming up with AMTRAK to provide on-board tour guides every third Saturday, April through September. The Trails & Rails program will introduce southbound passengers to the history, landscape and economics of the areas in Oklahoma and Texas along the Flyer route.
