Paint Pumpkins Like a Pro
I can vividly remember pulling a wagon around the farm while my mom filled the wagon with pumpkins, knowing I got to pick the perfect pumpkin to take home! Pumpkin patches bring back so many fun memories for me as a child. Later that evening, my dad would haul hay bales onto our front lawn and we would help my mom arrange the pumpkins for the perfect front porch fall setting.
As I got older, I enjoyed decorating pumpkins with friends, not only did it mean it was almost Halloween, it meant all the holidays were upon us!
Today I’m sharing with you the latest pumpkin painting trend….. ombre pumpkins!
To start, visit some of the great local pumpkin patches in south-central Oklahoma! The Woodbine Farms Pumpkin Patch in Ardmore, the Happy Day Farms Pumpkin Patch in Terral, Baker’s Acres Pumpkin Patch in Tishomingo, Brown’s Farm and Garden in Chickasha, and TG Farms in Newcastle are just a few places to find your pumpkins! I was recently at Baker’s Acres, and I can’t wait to visit another!
After you select the perfect pumpkin, stop by a local craft store and pick-up craft paint, a paintbrush, a paint palette (or paper plate) and cotton balls. After you gather all the supplies follow these steps in the video:
Wasn’t that easy?! Now set your pumpkins out on the porch!
Happy painting,
Kalli
