Drive-In Movie Road Trip

Last weekend, I was ready for an adventure, so I grabbed some friends and drove to Chickasha, Oklahoma! I was in the mood do something different so we decided to go the Chief Drive-In Movie Theater!

We pulled up and it was like stepping back in time. I immediately thought of the movie Grease! We bought our tickets, drove through the gate and found the perfect place to park and watch the movie. The tickets were reasonable and they were showing a double feature so you get to watch two movies for the price of one. What a steal!

After finding just the right spot, we pulled out the lawn chairs and set up camp. If you want to sit in the car and watch the movie, turn off your headlights and tune into the radio.

No outside food is allowed in the drive-in, so we hit up the concession stand because popcorn is must for any movie I see. The Chief Drive Innot only had popcorn, but burgers, pizza, nachos, pretzels and anything else you might want! I wanted one of everything!

The Chief Drive-In Theater was opened in 1949 and is one of the last standing drive-ins in Oklahoma! If it’s not already on your bucket list, you need to add it.

Let me help you explore another outdoor movie theater in Chickasaw Country!

Other movie theaters to add to the bucket list should include The Indie Cinema in Tishomingo, the Royal Theater in Pauls Valley, The Palace Theater in Duncan, and the McSwain Theatre in Ada!

Because time is flying way too fast, grab some friends, take a trip and catch a movie! Movies are the perfect way to spend a night out, and don’t forget to share your photos with me using #VisitChickasaw on social media.

Until next time!
